Vestavia Hills Police have a warning for car owners this morning: There has been a rash of burglaries.
Police say at least 14 cars have recently been burglarized. The crimes occurred from Milhaven Drive to Christopher Drive in the Cahaba Heights area. All vehicles were left unlocked. A wide range of items were stolen, from coins, cash, checks and small electronics. Police say there are things you can do to lower the risk of your vehicle becoming a target to thieves:
1.) Lock your doors
2.) Activate your car alarm if you have one
3.) Remove valuables from plain sight
4.) Park your car in a well-lit area, if possible
5.) Remain observant
Police urge residents to alert law enforcement if they see anything or anyone suspicious.
