Tuscaloosa investigators have arrested two teenagers for allegedly throw bricks from an I-59 overpass. Jordan Isaiah Price and Shane Adam Herren, both age 16 are charged as adults with 1st degreeMore >>
A 40-year-old Tuscaloosa woman is in critical condition after her vehicle was struck by a large brick that had been thrown from an overpass. The Tuscaloosa Sheriff's Office says it happened on Interstate 20/59 southbound near Keene's Mill Road around 9 PM Sunday.
According to the victim's close friend Julie Kizzia, the victim's name is Melissa Jones. Kizzia says that Jones and her three children were traveling to Northport at the time of the accident.
The Sheriff's Office says the brick crashed through the windshield and struck the victim in the chest and neck. A tractor trailer and another vehicle were also damaged by the debris.
The female was taken by ambulance to DCH fire treatment. She is still in the hospital at this time.
