Two victims of a Sunday triple homicide in Pelham were laid to rest Thursday. Family and friends said goodbye to 22-year-old Casey Cumberland in Calera and 22-year-old Joshua Smith in Clanton.
"Casey wouldn't have wanted people to cry right now. Josh wouldn't have, either," said friend Andrew Eberhardt. "He'd want everybody to be happy and have a big smile on their face."
20-year-old Jon Staggs is charged with murder and burglary in connection with the case.
He's accused of killing Cumberland, Smith, and 19-year-old Simeon Gilmore.
The victims' bodies were found Sunday inside the house where Smith and his parents lived in Pelham's Chandalar neighborhood.
