The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind will need to find a new director.
Current director Terry Graham says he will step down next year as head of the state-sponsored school.  His resignation will take effect February first.
Graham has been at the school for 35 years.  He served as president for the last decade.
Before that he was as an administrator at the Helen Keller School and in Health, Evaluation and Outreach programs.
Board chairman Lynwood French says trustees will conduct a search for a successor.
