Anniston's Centennial Memorial Park will add 4 new memorial walls. The state has designated the park and the official memorial for fallen law enforcement, firefighters, and soldiers from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The design to expand the park was unveiled during a 9/11 remembrance ceremony. It was the official kickoff of the fundraising campaign for the project. The cost for the memorials has not been tabulated, but is expected to exceed $150,00. So far, more than $10,000 has been raised.
