The owner of a Pelham tobacco distributor, Shamim Ahmed Khan, pleaded guilty Tuesday in a tax evasion case.
He admitted to not paying more than $800,000 in tobacco taxes, and must pay $1.7M in taxes, interest, and penalties.
Prosecutors can also recommend a 6 month sentence followed by 5 years of supervised probation.
Khan owns Capital Wholesale and Distribution, which supplies tobacco to convenience stores.
