The Auburn Tigers (0-2) lost to the Mississippi State Bulldogs 28-10 today in Starkville.
Tigers' sophomore quarterback Keihl Frazier struggled in the loss, throwing three interceptions and losing two fumbles. He finished the day 13-22 for 125 yards.
Auburn's offense managed only 216 total yards and was just 2-12 on third down conversions. Mississippi State (2-0) racked up 388 total yards with 222 of those coming through the air.
Auburn's leading rusher was transfer Mike Blakely. He finished the day with only 42 yards on 11 carries.
The lone highlight for the Tigers was a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by senior running back Onterrio McCalleb.
Bulldogs' quarterback Tyler Russell picked apart the Auburn secondary, throwing for three touchdowns in the contest. Receiver Marcus Green led all Mississippi State receivers with four catches for 54 yards and two touchdowns. LaDarius Perkins rushed for 83 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
Up next for Auburn is Louisiana-Monroe next Saturday at home in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
