The 2012 NFL season kicks off with a bang tonight at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as the defending Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants, host Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys.
Troy products, Cowboys' linebacker Demarcus Ware and Giants' defensive end Osi Umenyiora, have been studs on their respective defenses for years now, and both should play a pivotal role in the outcome of the game.
The 30-year-old Umenyiora is in his 10th season with the Giants while Ware, also 30, is in his 8th year with the Cowboys.
Former Auburn player and Cowboys' defensive tackle Jay Ratliff will not join Ware in the lineup as he is out with a high ankle sprain.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Other players from Alabama colleges:
Jerel Jernigan, Giants WR, Troy
Brandon Mosley, Giants OT, Auburn
Michael Coe, Giants CB, Alabama State
Brian Witherspoon, Giants CB, Stillman
