Mercury and PCB Advisory for Alabama

Posted: Updated:

Health officials have issued a mercury level warning for several bodies of water. After extensive testing, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management has concluded that there are some risks in the state.

One of those risks comes from Choccolocco Creek in Talladega County. ADEM warns that all species of fish could contain a dangerous amount of mercury or PCBs. Exposure to those fish from eating could lead to health effects.
