She's an All-American star and brought home the gold medal in the women's gymnastics, but recent talk of Gabby Douglas being bullied in her younger years is sparking conflicting reports.
The 16 year old athlete recently opened up to Oprah about the issue. She says she was the target of racist jokes at her former gym in Virginia, before moving to Des Moines to train for the Olympics.
Douglas said:
"I was just, you know, kind of getting tired of racist jokes, kind of being isolated from the group. So it was definitely hard. I would come home at night and just cry my eyes out."
On the flip side, Gabby's former gym, Excalibur Gymnastics, says her allegations are simply untrue and she was actually favored at the gym.
