FAYETTE - AL -
Investigators are looking in to what started an early-morning fire in the Fayette Housing Apartments. One unit was gutted by fire, injuring three children and one adult who were inside. The other two adults at home were not listed as injured. We are told three children were taken to the hospital. Two of them, a six and a five-year old, were airlifted to Birmingham. An officer is at the hospital with children.
The police chief and District Attorney were reportedly on the scene of the fire. At this point, State Fire Marshall Ed Paulk believes someone left food unattended, while cooking on the stove.
