Road closures and Hurricane Isaac

Public Information Officer Grant Brown City of Gulf Shores tells ABC 33/40 officials have announced no anticipated road closures or access restrictions to the island throughout the day today.

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27 the City anticipates closures at Highway 59 and Zoo Road and Highway 135 and Highway 182 at Beach Boulevard.  Residents and others with proper credentials will still be given access to these areas until further notice.

Officials do not anticipate any interruption in utilities; however, the potential still remains for disruption as conditions can deteriorate rapidly.

Baldwin County Coliseum and Daphne East is open at 4:00 p.m. for all residents seeking shelter.  For more information residents can contact the Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency at 251-972-6807 or visit their website at www.baldwincountyal.gov. 

Gulf Shores Emergency Management staff continue to monitor the storm developments and will adjust advisories as needed.
