Massey and Spicer to report to prison Monday

Two defendants in the bingo corruption trial are to report to federal prison Monday by 2:00 p.m. to begin their sentences. Lobbyist Jarrod Massey is sentenced to 65 months and Rep. Terry Spicer of Elba has a term of 57 months. Country Crossing developer Ronnie Gilley was sentenced to 80 months, but has until September 24th to report to prison due to surgery.

Gilley and Massey both pleaded guilty to conspiracy and bribery charges that involved millions of dollars to legislators to support pro-gambling legislation. Spicer admitted to taking bribes from Gilley and Massey while a legislator.

The three men were sentenced July 16th.

A fourth person, Lobbyist Jennifer Pouncy, also pleaded guilty and is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, August 29th.
