Samford University rolled out the welcome mat to 700 freshman Friday morning.
Friday was the "move in" day for freshman.
Both Vail and Smith Hall had dozens of volunteers ready to greet families as they made it onto campus.
Freshman like Kerith Helms are all ready to get the year started. "I'm excited and I can't wait to start the semester. I can't wait to see all that God has in store for me," said Helms.
The weekend will be filled with other welcoming events for the incoming freshman. Fall semester classes begin Monday, August 27.
Samford will have a record total enrollment this semester of more than 4,800 students.
