A fundraiser for wounded soldiers has kicked off in Gardendale. Workers at Bedzzz Express have made yellow ribbons for residents and businesses to purchase and display.
The ribbons are in remembrance of September 11 and they can be purchased for $15. Bedzzz Express will match every dollar raised. Proceeds go to local, wounded soldiers.
Gardendale Mayor Othell Phillips says, "We have soldiers in other countries fighting for our freedoms that we are enjoying right now. And we just need to continue to remember those and don't forget what's going on behind the scenes."
Phillips will help distribute money to the wounded soldiers. The fundraiser is called "Yes, We Remember".
