Some Helena kids spent their last weekend before school starts, raising money for a good cause.
As part of Ella Robinett's 8th birthday celebration, she decided to host "Alex's Lemonade Stand". It honors children currently battling cancer.
Ella's grandfather is also undergoing treatment.
She's asking for donations to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, instead of birthday gifts.
Her mother, Shelly Robinett says, it makes her proud to see such a selfless act.
"It gives them an understanding that some kids are just struggling out there, for one reason or another. And it gets them excited about doing something that is worthwhile," says Robinett.
Saturday's event alone brought in $295. But her total donations received was more than $1,300.
