The City of Sylacauga is with heavy hearts as residents mourn the death of mayor Sam Wright.
There's still lots of questions regarding his death, but on Saturday, city leaders took the first step to move forward.
Sylacauga city council members had a special called meeting Saturday morning, to determine the next course of action for the city, naming an interim-mayor.
James Heigl will continue to serve as acting mayor, until municipal elections on August 28.
"It's very heavy on the heart. This really is quite a shock," says Heigl. "We're still trying to get through it and it's going to take a long time I'm afraid."
The Talladega Sheriff's Department is reviewing Wright's death. There does not appear to be any foul play involved.
