The crash involving a Bibb County deputy leaves questions about why he allegedly got out pointing his gun.
The deputy identified as 26-year old Chad Shockley-- is out of the hospital.
ABC 33/40 has learned Shockley graduated the from the Mobile Police Academy on July 6, 2012, less than a month prior to crashing his patrol unit into a business in Vance early Sunday morning.
Deputy had just his overnight shift with the Bibb County Sheriff's office where he's worked for the past two years.
Tuscaloosa county authorities confirm that people on the scene reported that the Shockley got out pointing a gun.
However -- the sheriff's office declined to comment..
A spokesperson says that they believe the deputy was dazed from the accident-- and went into a 'self-preservation' and training mode.
State troopers are investigating the accident.
We're told a toxicology report on the deputy came back negative.
