Torrid, a retailer
of on-trend fashion apparel, lingerie and accessories for young, voluptuous
women who wear size 12 and up, opened a retail store at Riverchase Galleria in
Hoover on August 7, 2012. It will hold its grand opening on August
18, 2012 starting at 10 A.M.
"Our customers are
reacting enthusiastically to our fashion collections and exceptional fit, and
have been very vocal about wanting us to expand our store base," said Lisa
Harper, Chairman and CEO of Hot Topic, Inc. – the parent company of Torrid. "More than 50 percent of women in the U.S.
wear our size range, yet this market represents only 17 percent of women's
fashion retail industry. We see a great
opportunity to grow our business by offering our customers apparel and accessories
that fit their sense of style, while helping them look and feel irresistible."
is that its collections truly reflect the latest trends for each season. The brand's approach is different because
each item is designed and constructed specifically to fit and flatter a voluptuous
figure, rather than being a "sized up" version of a fashion piece. Once developed, each piece is tried and
tested on a plus-size model, ensuring a fit that's unmatched in the industry.
"With the addition
of Torrid to Riverchase Galleria, we are continuing our longstanding commitment
of providing our customers with a strong mix of national retailers," said Christopher
White, marketing manager of Riverchase Galleria. "With the customer as our main
focus, we continually strive to secure a retail line-up that goes above and
beyond their shopping expectations."
The new 2,307
square-foot Torrid store is on level two near
Center Court next to Sketchers. Customers are invited to participate in the
store's grand opening event starting at 10 A.M. on Saturday, August 18; the
first 50 people to enter the store will receive a $10 Torrid gift card. Riverchase Galleria is located at 3000
Galleria Circle in Hoover, Alabama.
