Governor Bentley has called a special election to fill the District 30 seat in the state House. It was vacated when Representative Blaine Galliher of Gadsden joined the Governor's administration.
Party primaries for the post will be held on October 23rd. The general election will be held December eleventh if no runoff is needed. If a runoff is required, the general election will be on January 29th, 2013.
District 30 includes parts of Etowah and St. Clair counties.
