Breaking news from the ABC 33/40 newsroom. ABC 33/40 has learned that a request has been made to the U.S. Attorney's Office for an investigation of State Board of Education Deputy superintendent Craig Pouncey. That request was made in a letter to U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance by the Metro Birmingham branch of the NAACP and a group called Outcast Voters League. The organizations claim that Pouncey circumvented the retirement system of Alabama's Retirement Policy to enrich unnamed officials, including former state superintendent Ed Richardson.
