House flooded in Pelham
Buck Creek in Helena Severe storms rolled across central Alabama this morning, flooding roads and leaving homes in the dark.
At the height of the storms, about 32,000 Alabama Power customers had no electricity. Crews were dispatched quickly to restore power. However, their first concern was safety.
Flooding was reported on roads in Alabaster, Pelham, Vestavia Hills, Birmingham, and other locations. The high waters even overtook a police car.
