Chick-fil-A Controversy
A war of words from some big city leaders directed at the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain keeps going. The latest salvo came from Washington D.C. mayor Vincent Gray.
He joined mayors of other big cities such as Boston, Chicago and San Francisco in not welcoming the Atlanta based chain. Gray's spokesperson says the mayor does not support Chick-fil-A and he does not want the chain in his district.
However, he says the restaurant is legally entitled to a permit. Chick-fil-A has been at the center of a gay rights debate since its president said the chain was "guilty as charged" of supporting the biblical definition of the family unit.
Supporters of the chain are mobilizing an effort of their own. Wednesday is Chick-fil-A appreciation day nationwide.
