UPDATED: Man leaves woman and child in burning car while running from deputies

This suspect has not been captured - Warrants have been obtained for reckless driving, attempting to elude, giving false information and reckless endangerment. The suspect has been identified as 37 year old Eudres Braxton of Bessemer. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 205-325-1450.

A 37-year-old man left a woman and young child in a burning car while running from Jefferson County Deputies. A Jefferson County Deputy stopped a gold Mercury Marquis during a traffic stop in the 4200 Block of Candlebrook Lane in the Eastern Valley area. The man driving had several outstanding warrants from surrounding agencies. During the stop, the man pulled away and led deputies on a short chase. The pursuit continued down 4th Avenue Southwest in Bessemer when the suspect's car caught fire. He pulled over in the 500 Block of 4th Avenue Southwest and fled from the burning car. The suspect left a woman and a child in the car.

The woman and child escaped the car without injury.
