Attorney General wants to destroy gaming machines

Posted: Updated:

State Attorney General Luther Strange is awaiting a judge's ruling on whether he can destroy hundreds of gaming machines seized in a casino raid.

Law enforcement officers hauled hundreds of computers and other gaming machines out of the Center Stage casino earlier this week. They also seized more than $283,000 in cash.  Strange wants to turn that money over to the state treasurer. He believes the money and the equipment was part of an illegal gambling operation.

No one was arrested during the raid.
