
Auburn's Marta Sanz made a big move
Thursday at the 2012 International European Ladies' Amateur Championship at Golf
& Country Club Diners Ljubljana in Slovenia, moving up almost 40 spots
after carding a second-round 68.
She finished the day one stroke ahead of her
older sister, Patricia Sanz.
Marta, a rising junior at Auburn, moved from 61st into a tie for 24th with her 3-under 68. She finished the day with a 36-hole total of 1-under 141.
Patricia, a 2012 Auburn graduate, is not far behind her sister after a second-round 72. Her 1-over performance placed her into a tie for 33rd with an even-par 142.
France's Celine Boutier holds the 36-hole lead with an 8-under 134. She carded a 5-under 66 on Thursday to take the lead.
