Alabama's Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation held a kickoff luncheon for team captain's of the Walk To Cure Diabetes on Wednesday at The Club .

 It's an team effort to end type one diabetes.

  JDRF's goal is to raise money for a cure, advanced treatments, and prevention .

In Alabama, there are 200 to 300 newly diagnosed families each year.

The walk is September 23, 2012 at Veteran's Park in Hoover.
