Two charged with trafficking heroin in Shelby County

A month long investigation into heroin possession in Jefferson County has led to the seizure of 126.5 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of nearly $38,000 from an apartment in Shelby County.

Jefferson County investigators, working with the North Shelby County Drug Task Force, obtained a search warrant for the apartment, located in the 2100 block of Springfield Loop West.

23 year old Tishia Bryant was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and trafficking heroin. She was taken to the Shelby County Jail and held on a $101,000 bond.

Arrest warrants were also obtained for a second suspect who was not present when deputies arrived.

25 year old Michael Magail Bonner is wanted for trafficking heroin and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. His bond is also set at $101,000.

Any person convicted of possessing 56 grams or more of heroin will be sentenced to a mandatory term of life in prison without the possibility of parole according to Alabama law.
