Friday night, July 20, 31 year old Courtney White of Center Point was stopped on Huffman Road by deputies for an equipment violation. He was found to have a revoked driver's license, and deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the truck he was driving.

The driver and passenger were asked to step out of the truck, and while they were being patted down for officer safety, deputies found that the passenger, 36 year old Jonell White, also of Center Point, had mariuana and several bundles of heroin packaged for sale.

Jonell White was arrested for possession of marijuana 1st degree and trafficking heroin, and he was taken to the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham with bonds totaling $102,500. He posted bond and was released at 11:00 pm Saturday.

While White was being arrested, his cell phone rang several times. A deputy answered and a male voice said he was "at the tattoo shop wanting to buy a 'G'" - a street term for a gram of heroin.

Deputies then went to the tattoo shop where they found 41 year old Timothy Tressler of Oneonta, who had 2 outstanding felony warrants for failure to appear on a charge of theft of property 1s degree. Tressler was also arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham where he was held with no bond.
