The electrical fire appears to have started when a worker cut through a wire at a store that is under construction on the first floor of the mall. Police and fire crews are still on the scene.

The entire mall is being evacuated. The fire department is going to each store to ensure that the fire has not spread, and for evacuation purposes. ABC 33/40 has been told that it was a small electrical fire.

Parts of the Riverchase Galleria are being evacuated due to smoke inside the mall. The Hoover Fire Department confirms that there was a small fire that has been extinguished.
