Missing Sylacauga man found in the attic

Brian Travis, missing since July 17, was located in the attic of his home.  After Travis was found in his attic he was then arrested for theft of property 2nd degree, a class C felony.  Travis is in custody at the Talladega County Jail. 

"I'm glad this event turned out the way it did, we will always search for missing persons diligently and professionally until they are returned to their families or in this case placed in jail, everyone did an outstanding job, said Sylacauga Police Chief Chris Carden.

Based off of information collected a search had begun in the area of the Coosa River Bridge in Childersburg.  Many agencies assisted in attempting to locate Travis over the past few days.  The Alabama Marine Police, Coosa Valley Rescue Squad, and Childersburg Police all assisted in the search for Travis. 

When Travis originally went missing he left a note that indicated his intent of committing suicide.
