The Alabama football team had 12 players selected to the 2012 Southeastern Conference Media Days Preseason All-SEC Team, the league announced Thursday. Of the 12 selected, five were tabbed to the first team.
The 12 selections, and five first teamers, were the second most in the conference. The media also tabbed the Crimson Tide to finish second in the SEC Western Division behind LSU.
Three of the first team selections for the Tide came along the offensive line as junior D.J. Fluker and seniors Barrett Jones and Chance Warmack earned the honor. Joining the trio from the defensive side of the ball were seniors Robert Lester and Nico Johnson.
Junior running back Eddie Lacy was tabbed to the second team, while junior quarterback AJ McCarron and senior tight end Michael Williams garnered third team honors.
On defense, seniors Jesse Williams and Damion Square, and juniors Dee Milliner and C.J. Mosley were named to the second team.
