One important item your child should have this school year is a clean bill of health.
Doctors suggest children have an annual back to school check up -- no matter how healthy your child appears to be.
Pediatrician, Dr. Emma Raizman says, "So, we always want to check the heart and the lungs and make sure that they're OK. Usually we get a family history to make sure that there is nothing cardiac that we need to follow-up on, any heart problems the child might have, especially if they're going to be in sports."
Doctors say to come with any questions you may have about your child's health.
And do not wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment.
The closer we get to the start of school -- the harder it will be to get an appointment.
