Authorities in Gettysburg, PA say two men
attacked a hiker from Alabama and set him on fire.
The grisly crime occurred while the
46-year-old Alabama man was stopping in Gettysburg to buy supplies for a hike
on the Appalachian Trail. He was walking on Baltimore Street when a blue car
drove by. The people inside the car began shouting at the man and the hiker
yelled back. The man went down an alley to get away from the car and it
followed him. Two men got out of the vehicle, threw liquid on him and lit a
match. His hands, arms, face, and scalp were all burned.
Gettysburg Police are still looking for the
individuals who committed the crime. The victim is being treated for second and
third degree burns at Gettysburg Hospital.
