Alabama hiker set on fire

Police say an Alabama hiker in Gettysburg was burned when a man riding past in a car stopped and threw a flammable liquid on the hiker and lit it. The incident occurred at 1 AM on Thursday. Gettysburg Police say the 46-year-old Tuscaloosa man, whose name they're not releasing, was walking in town to get supplies for his trip along the Appalachian Trail when a car with three men and two women drove past and someone yelled about him being homeless. The man yelled back but left the street hoping to avoid a confrontation when he saw the car turn around.

Paramedics took the man to Gettysburg Hospital after one man in the car set fire to the hiker's hands, arms, head and clothing.
