Drinking milk can help build stronger bones, but what about drinking alcohol?
A new study, published in the journal "Menopause" says the key is moderate doses of alcohol.
Researchers looked at 40 healthy post-menopausal women under 65. That's the age where bones become thinner and the risk for osteoporosis and fractures starts to rise. They found women who had one-half to two drinks per day had healthier bones.
There may be more to consider before you buy out the wine section. While the study does positively link drinking and bone health, it doesn't say alcohol can prevent broken bones.
