A big financial boost is on the way for Samford University students pursuing advanced nursing degrees.
The Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing received the seventh-largest federal-based Nursing Loan Grant in the country. The grant totals more than $800,000, and will help 25 students who are pursuing their master's and doctorates in nursing. The money covers expenses such as tuition, books and fees. In return for the award, students must agree to teach nursing full-time for four years. The awards will be offered to qualifying students this fall.
