Former OSU Cowboy basketball star Tony Allen is holding his 2012 Grit and Grind Basketball Skills Academy in Stillwater.
The Grit & Grind Basketball Academy will assist in the development of five basic basketball skills: shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense. The camp will immerse youth in the sport, giving them the kind of focused intensive training that is essential to improvement. Their self-confidence will grow along with their skills and overall appreciation of the game.
Allen led the Cowboys to the Final Four in 2004 and was picked in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. He won an NBA Championship in 2008 while with the Celtics, and has spent the past two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was named to the NBA's All-Defensive team this past season.
It will take place inside Gallagher-Iba Arena on July 18-20. The 3-day camp is for kids ages ten through 17-years-old. It runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Wednesday through Friday.
