Ohio Train Derailment

At this hour, tanker cars involved in a train derailment early this morning in Columbus, Ohio keep burning. At least three of the eleven derailed cars were carrying ethanol. One person described the scene by saying "it looked like the sun exploded".

It happened in an industrial area. Some 50 people were evacuated. Two people who ran toward the scene have non-life threatening injuries.

Lots of buzz going around about Representative Jesse Jackson Jr.  He has not been on the House floor since June and now is not expected to return until after Labor Day.

That's a lot of missed votes.

We know he has a medical condition, the question is what.  The Illinois delegation wants an answer. So does House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi's.

MLB All Star Game

Major League Baseball's All-Star Game was a lopsided affair. The National League blew out the American League eight to nothing. The NL got five runs in the top of the first inning alone!

The win gives the National League home field advantage in the World Series.
