
On Monday, July 16, casino developer Ronnie Gilley and lobbyist Jarrod Massey will be sentenced for bribery. Both men pleaded guilty to offering state lawmakers millions of dollars in bribes.
Gilley and Massey each pleaded guilty. For their cooperation, federal prosecutors are recommending less prison time than that called for in federal sentencing guidelines.
Prosecutors want Gilley to spend almost eleven years behind bars. He could be sentenced to up to 27 years.
They recommend lobbyist Massey get slightly more than eleven years in prison. Guidelines for Massey's crimes could put him behind bars for 14 years.
