TUSCALOOSA - AL -

The public is now invited to a big demolition happening July 4th at the University of Alabama.

The four-decade old Rose Towers dorm is being imploded to make way for newer residence halls.  It will be demolished at 8:00am.  Trails and roads near the building will be closed starting at 6:30 that morning.  The nearby Black Warrior River will also be temporarily closed to boat traffic.

The public can watch the implosion from a viewing area in the Riverside East parking lot.

If you are not able to get to Tuscaloosa to see it in person, you can watch the implosion live here on our site.
