Tuscaloosa grocery store owner busted for sale of narcotics

George Stephens has been arrested and charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, two counts of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Agents from the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant this morning at D&G Grocery.  It is believed that Marijuana was being sold at the store located in the 8000 Block of Old Marion Rd.  Several individual packages of Marijuana and a small caliber handgun were recovered at the store. An additional search warrant was also executed at Stephens' residence in Taylorwood Estates.  Agents found marijuana, individually packaged, scales, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Stephens is being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $53,000.00 bond.
