Birmingham attorney now faces federal sex charges - ABC 33/40 - Birmingham News, Weather, Sports

U.S. Marshals arrested a Birmingham attorney Thursday morning on federal sex charges involving a minor.

A federal grand jury indicted 58 year old Chuck Hunter Wednesday for attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity. According to prosecutors, Hunter used the internet and telephone to try to persuade who he believed to be a 14 year old boy to engage in a sexual act.

Hunter was initially arrested on a state charge June 13. He was released from jail Wednesday on bond.

Hunter was a Jefferson County Circuit Court judicial candidate. He's been removed from the ballot for now.
