Once again, ABC 33/40 has activated our Neighbors in Need program to provide air conditioners to residents who need them.
We're working with More than Conquerors Faith Church to give relief when temperatures soar.
"It's time that the whole village in Birmingham rises up with a passion and with a fire," said Pastor Steve Green. "We want the passion toward giving and donations to be much hotter than what the temperatures are, so that means we've got to come on and donate because it's hot right now."
The church has received dozens of telephone calls from people needing assistance. Air Conditioning units cost around $100 and can be found at appliance stores across the area.
In 2007, ABC 33/40 launched a similar campaign, and more than 300 units were donated.
