Update: Colleen Van Sant, with the Alabama Forestry Commission, tells ABC 33/40 that the fires in Leeds are now contained. They will still be burning for a few days and there is no danger to homes.
Alabama Forestry tells ABC 33/40 they are continuing to monitor the forest fires in Leeds. They have people on the ground and will check the location by air around lunch time today. No homes are in danger at this time. Also, we have been told The Shops of Grand River are not in danger from the fire.
Smoke from the fires has been scene in several different cities.
