A topping out ceremony this afternoon that's been more than two years in the making, the final beam went up Tuesday on Homewood's first Target store. The retailer is scheduled to open in the spring 2013.
Dozens of city and business leaders celebrated by signing the beam. The store will join Macy's and Belk as the largest retailers in Colonial Brookwood Village.
Homewood Mayor Scott McBrayer says the new store will bring 200 jobs to the area. This Target will be the fifth one in Jefferson County.
