Aaron Jackson, of Birmingham, has been arrested and charged with Arson 1st Degree for setting fire to a residence at 1527 Cullman Avenue on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Information obtained by investigators revealed that a black male set the fire by throwing gasoline onto the porch, then throwing a Molotov Cocktail onto the residence.  After receiving a description of the suspect, officers were able to locate the suspect near the scene and take him into custody. The fire was extinguished by the occupants and the residence sustained minimal damage.

This case appears to be an isolated incident.

Jackson is being held at the Jefferson County Jail with a $60,000 bond.
