Some people in a Birmingham community want to start a neighborhood watch program after another church copper theft.
Four air conditioner units at St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church on Wintergreen Avenue were dismantled and the copper wiring was stolen Saturday night.
One church member says the nearby houses of at least three other members were also broken into last week. She says police responded within five minutes to all the incidents.
Neighbors are now circulating a petition to get support to start a neighborhood watch group.
Recently, copper thieves have struck at least four nearby churches.
No arrests have been made.
