Birmingham Police have arrested Cordaryl Craig, of
Birmingham, for the June 4, 2012 shooting death of Enrico Townsend in the 1800 block
of 18th Street North.
At approximately 6:00PM on June 4, 2012 officers from
Birmingham's West Precinct responded to a report of a person shot. When they arrived they found Townsend lying
in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to U.A.B. where he was pronounced dead on June 6th.
Officers
learned that the victim chased two subjects from his apartment and into a white
SUV parked outside. The victim attempted to stop the suspects from leaving the
area as he hung onto the vehicle. The victim was dragged approximately a block by
the suspects' vehicle just before he was shot.
