Parrish man drowned on vacation

GULF SHORES - AL -

A Walker County man drowned Wednesday while vacationing with his family. It happened just off shore in Gulf Shores. Michael Thomas Herron, 36, drowned while swimming with his family.

The man, who is from Parrish, was pulled to shore and rushed to South Baldwin Regional Hospital in Foley. He was later pronounced dead.

Gulf Shores City officials say this is the fourth drowning in the city this year.
